So I'm going to throw this out there and see what I get back..

Recently we've had a lot of scamming issues, things have been put in place to prevent that, but let's be honest.. nothing will EVER really 100% stop scamming from happening. There has been a lot of chatter concerning Grumpster and his bag of tricks being allowed to carry on.. and I feel what MK is lacking at the moment is a set rule for scammers.. In the past we had scammer tags which did next to nothing and scammers were still able to scam.. then we had banned ALL reported scammers(which still is in my opinion the best method of keeping MK a scam free zone..) now that seems to be an issue.. so we need something set in stone that will work for stopping scammers - if you like the tag, bans or something else entirely, please share it here, and maybe we will be able to minimize these issues from happening.

Idk if it's possible.. But. i say that if someone is proven a scammer, They're unable to transfer any items/money at all, Their send/receive buttons on profiles are removed for them. Marketing is the only way they can use money and/or get items and points and credits(without donating).

This would make it so that people cant accidentally walk into this person being a scammer again, for they are unable to send/receive anything outside of the market.

Just my opinion.

Hmm, personally i say bann.
its the only way to really keep it from happening.

But then again this grumpster business has been kind of dodgey....
Since this scam just a couple days ago was really bad, but then again happend under some really bad conditions for the victim, banning him would mean bann for both scammer and the one getting scammed, but hey once a scammer allways a scammer.

throw in the bann hammer.

I think you should ban the IP for a couple years....

Or just ban them for forever.....

I agree with Illusion... Banning the IP for a reasonable period of time it would be perfect.

Selet that is not bad, the only problem would be - we wouldn't know unless they told us if that was in place still.. which would be problematic.

I agree chriz, nothing against annon here but selling items(aside from accounts) for REAL cash always has been illegal in MK and any other game I've ever played, and will always be illegal. Could you imagine the loss MK could take if I decided to under cut admin and sell all of my points at a discounted rate? MK would make no money on several point packs. Or imagine if BK started selling all the highest gear for paypal cash? Big loss for the game there.. So, as much as I do feel bad for anon and like him as an individual, he also broke the rules and I think in this case both players should be banned.

As for the IP bans, a ban does block the IP.. however, with all the new technologies it's likely if just the IP and not the account were banned, a scammer would continue to log into their account from other ips and be able to rip off other players.. so an IP ban without an account ban is nearly pointless. :/

I believe Selet's idea is quite good. However, I'd say that removing the send bottons it's bad, since someone may still want to send him a present, for instance.

Well yea ban the account too but anyone can go to a friends house and make a new account so there's going to be scamming no matter what it's a hard thing to get rid of...

Yes, but you would have to live in your's mate house, and I'm quite sure that there's no person on Earth that would cope with that  Grin.

I agree with the banning it is the only way to stop scamming just letting them off the hook gives them more time to just scam some more.

If Selets idea were to happen, there has to be more to it, because basically we're just letting them save up.. Maybe a cut in the interest they gain by half or something..??

and yes Ill it would have to be account ban with ip ban to make it work - as it was. If they make a new account and scam, then the same punishment would be repeated.

Sorry for the example then  Lips sealed.

Well, I believe that if you take them the chance of receing and/or sending items, cash, points, credits, it's enough... Thjey still be "players" in some way. LOL!

Just keep the ban and put the hammer down
